Difficulty switching progress back and forth from computer to phone. Anki Pro simply has none as far as I’m aware, AnkiApp will give you an ‘A’.ĭ. Other apps don’t have this data that in a for sure way says how much you know. It also shows number of days studied and how much time spent, and statistics with how often you get mature cards correct. Anki shows you in an easy way the words per deck and the words in total you KNOW (mature) words you are learning (Learning) and words you haven’t yet seen (New) this helps for you to be able to measure progress which can often help determine if you should increase reviews or new cards per day or decrease either of them. AnkiApp and AnkiPro lack the clear statistics Anki provides. I only made real progress when I installed Anki itselfĬ. I tried AnkiApp for a month and it made me zero progress. Those old cards will just never be seen again. AnkiApp will also not occasionally throw old cards you know at you. It sets you on a routine too since unlike ankiapp, you have a setting that will automatically tell you you’ve reached your goal for the day. Anki’s method of setting it to where you are only shown 3 new words in a day, and it reviews old words in an amount you can handle works much better. As you try to learn with say Ankiapp, it will throw infinitely more new words at you as you try to review old words. You will be slammed with a bunch of words from the deck all at once rather than the easy way Anki reviews. Let’s say you want to add new cards into a deck, when you add those new cards into a deck with Anki, it’s no problem, but when you do this with Anki ripoffs, I’ve had experiences where you had to reset your progress entirelyī. If you spend 6 months learning random words rather than words specific to the level you are studying for or words for the specific chapter you are trying to learn/book you are trying to learn, you can be wasting your time.Ī. Sure you’re physics is correct and yes one day he will be the next Einstein, but for now the content he needs to focus on is 2+2=4, and so he needs to learn content relevant to what he is currently learning.Ī lot of these decks are handmade and people publish these decks online. Think of it like showing a second grader advanced physics. I saw several decks that were meant to be a particular level, and ended up being a combination of random levels, and I saw some decks that had cards that were although correct by definition, did not meet the level of content I was looking for. If you go to download a deck and see a lot of bad reviews, see cards with incorrect definitions or cards that are a completely different level than your current level, then you may learn irrelevant information or learn simply wrong information and hurt yourself in the long run. For Japanese, as that is mainly my experience with Anki, we have cards from certain levels of Japanese, level 5 being the lowest, and level 1 being the highest.
